YOUNG AT HEART: 3rd Sydney Seniors Film Festival

April 6th - 13th 2008

WELCOME!

You can only ever be old if you say so. You can be old at 22 if you are bored, blasé and have seen it all; and young at 80, if you can still admire a leaf or be moved by a sunset. The Young at Heart Festival is well named. It is a unique event which invites Australians of all ages to share their love of film, tell their stories, meet the artists and unleash their own creative powers.

It is heartening to see that the values we share as senior Australians –cooperation, creativity, respect for diversity and a zest for life - are reflected across a wealth of cultural activities in which we can all participate.

In film we discover new ways of seeing and understanding the world, new means of telling our story to future generations. I encourage everyone young and young, to join in this celebration of storytelling as we celebrate the Festival's 3rd year and cinema's 113th birthday."
